When and what information does BasicsLife collect?
BasicsLife collects basic information required to service your requests, including your name, mailing address, email and phone number. This information is gathered when you purchase e-commerce/products/gift certificates or sign up for email notifications. Your card information is requested only when you place an order and is submitted via the highest level of encryption to ensure the greatest amount of safety and security.

When you browse our website, we also use “cookies” or bits of tracking data to gather information about your preferences. This includes your internet service provider’s address and your clicks and activity on our website. We do not trace this information to individual customers and will never use cookies to save confidential information such as passwords or credit/debit card information.

Why do we collect this information?
The primary reason we gather information is for order processing, shipping and customer service. For example, we may contact you to provide an update on your order, information regarding the shipping status or to clarify questions related to your order. We also use this information to improve our products, services, website content, and navigation.

What step does BasicsLife take to ensure security when shopping online?
You place orders or access your account information, we offer the use of secure socket layer (SSL) technology. The secure socket layer (SSL) encrypts all information you put in before it is sent to us. Furthermore, all of the customer data we collect is protected against unauthorized access. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have employed reasonable and current Internet security methods and technologies.

Does BasicsLife share my information with other companies?
BasicsLife respects that you do not want your personal information shared with other companies. Therefore, the information which you provide will only be used for your intended purpose and to complete your online purchase. BasicsLife does not share, rent or sell your information to any other company.

First-party analytics, personalization & SMS reconnection (BasicsLife CDP)

BasicsLife operates its own first-party data platform on basicslife.com to improve the site, personalize your experience, and — for our existing customers — reconnect your browsing to your account so we can send relevant SMS offers. We rely on your consent for all of this, and it is strictly opt-in: until you click Accept on our cookie banner, we set no tracking cookies, create no device fingerprint, request no location, and send none of your data. The only thing we may remember before you choose is a refusal, so we don’t keep asking.

What we collect (only after you Accept): a random anonymous ID and session ID; a one-way device fingerprint (a hash of basic browser settings — never the underlying details); your IP address and the city-level location and network it indicates; the pages you view; clicks, scroll depth, and time on page; the names of form fields you use (never what you type); your on-site searches and shopping actions (product views, add-to-cart, checkout start); and, only if you separately allow your browser’s location prompt, your precise GPS location. If you identify yourself or arrive via a personalized SMS link, we link this activity to your customer record — and for an SMS link this happens only after you grant marketing consent on the banner (clicking the link alone does not link your browsing). Any email or phone used for matching is converted to a hash in your browser and then re-hashed on our server with a secret key (HMAC) before storage, so the stored value cannot be reversed back to your email or phone. We never store the raw email or phone.

Why: analytics and site improvement; personalization; and SMS reactivation / reconnecting anonymous sessions to known customers. We do not sell your personal data; “sale/share” follows your marketing choice and is off unless you opt in.

Who processes it: Cloudflare (edge delivery, processing, IP-geolocation, storage, and our identity database) and Shopify (the store platform, which receives only your consent signal). Both act as our processors; data may be processed outside your country under appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it: raw activity (including IP and city-level location) for up to 180 days; identity links for as long as you remain a customer or until you ask us to erase them; your consent record for up to 180 days. SMS links expire after 30 days.

Your rights: you can access, correct, withdraw consent, or request erasure at any time. Re-open the banner via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer (or by visiting https://basicslife.com/?bl-consent=open) to change or withdraw consent, which immediately stops collection and clears these cookies — the JS cookies (bl_aid, bl_sid, bl_uid) in your browser and the server-set HttpOnly cookies (bl_aids, bl_uid) via our server, so your anonymous ID cannot be re-issued. For access or deletion, email privacy@hasbroclothing.com — on a verified request we immediately delete your person and identifier records from our database and add a suppression entry so you are not re-identified; raw activity is stored in shared, date-partitioned batches that are not indexed per person, so it is not surgically removed but ages out and is deleted within 180 days. We honour Global Privacy Control and Do-Not-Track: the banner appears pre-set to Reject and nothing is tracked unless you actively opt in.

Children: we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 (DPDP) / under the applicable age of digital consent (GDPR) and do not target children.
