Men's Blazers
A blazer is the single piece that does the most work for a wardrobe — it turns a t-shirt and jeans into a put-together look, and it carries an Indian wedding outfit on its own. Basics blazers are polyester stretch knit: wrinkle-free, travel-friendly, and comfortable enough to sit in all evening. They're cut in Comfort Fit — softly structured through the shoulder, with room through the chest and body so they sit easily over a shirt. The stretch makes the fit forgiving, so if you're between sizes the size guide is the place to check. Navy, black, grey and brown as the core, with maroon, olive and beige for occasion wear, in plain and checked designs. Free shipping on every order, 5% extra off when you pay online, and 30-day free returns. Or try one on at any of 123+ Basics stores.

Frequently Asked Questions about Blazers
When should a man wear a blazer vs a full suit?
A blazer is worn as a separate over different trousers or jeans — it's smart-casual to semi-formal. Appropriate for office where suits aren't required, weddings as a guest (not groom), client dinners, evenings out, and weekend social events. A full suit (matched jacket and trousers in identical fabric) is more formal — required for traditional weddings as a groom or close family, formal business settings, and very dressy occasions. A blazer is the more versatile piece for most men; if you can only own one, own a blazer.
How should a blazer fit at the shoulders, chest, and length?
The shoulder seam should sit at the edge of your shoulder bone — not drooping, not bunched. The chest should close cleanly when buttoned with no pulling. Length should end at the mid-seat or just below, covering the seat without shortening the leg. Sleeves should end at the wristbone, showing about 1–1.5cm of shirt cuff. Because these are stretch knit, the fit is more forgiving than a structured blazer — if you're between sizes, size down rather than up.
Are these blazers comfortable in Indian heat?
They're knit rather than woven, which makes them lighter and more flexible than a traditionally structured blazer, and they don't crease when packed — useful for travel and long evenings. For peak summer outdoors, natural fibres like linen breathe better, and we don't currently make a linen blazer. Indoors, in air-conditioning, or for evening functions, these are comfortable to keep on.
Can I wear a blazer with jeans?
Yes — this is the most common modern way to wear a blazer in India outside of weddings. Pair a smart blazer (navy, grey, or check) with darker jeans (black, dark indigo, or grey — avoid faded or distressed jeans) and a clean shirt or fine-knit polo. Skip the tie. Add leather sneakers or loafers. This works for evenings out, casual office days, and most semi-formal events that aren't traditional weddings.
Which blazer colour should I buy first?
Navy. It works with more trousers than any other colour — beige, grey, brown, black — and it reads correctly in daylight and in the evening. Black is sharper for evening events but more restrictive during the day. If you're buying a second, make it grey or brown, depending on whether the rest of your wardrobe leans cool or warm.
How should I care for a Basics blazer?
Dry clean only — that's the care label, and it's worth following. Between cleans: hang it on a wide hanger rather than a wire one, let it air for a day after wearing, and use a steamer rather than an iron, since a hot iron can leave a shine on the fabric. Spot-clean small marks with a damp cloth rather than sending the whole blazer out.
