How does a teal overshirt actually differ from just wearing a regular teal shirt?
An overshirt is cut with a longer body, dropped shoulders, and roomier sleeves designed to layer over a t-shirt or full shirt without pulling or bunching. The fabric is typically heavier—ours is 150 GSM poplin—so it reads as an outerwear piece rather than a base layer. This means it works as a temperature layer in spring and autumn without looking like you're just wearing two shirts at once.
What chest size should I order if I normally wear a medium shirt?
Overshirts run intentionally large for layering room. If you're 38-40" chest, a small or medium depending on how much ease you want over a t-shirt. We recommend checking the fit guide on each product—measure your favourite overshirt or casual shirt across the chest point (pit to pit) and compare. For teal specifically, the cotton poplin has minimal give, so sizing to your actual chest measurement plus 4-6" of room works well.
Will teal fade after a few washes?
100% cotton poplin will shift slightly—expect the first 3-4 washes to have the most noticeable fade. Wash separately in cold water and air-dry to minimise colour loss. Mid-tone teals like ours tend to settle into a stable shade after about 5 wears. The poplin weave itself is durable and resists pilling at 150 GSM, so the garment itself will last several seasons with basic care.
Can I wear this in summer, or is it too heavy?
150 GSM poplin is too dense to wear as a standalone layer in peak June-July heat across most of India. It works best April-May and September-November when mornings and evenings cool. If you need year-round layering weight, look at our lighter cotton shirts instead. This overshirt is genuinely useful during cooler months and air-conditioned indoor settings.
